Employee burnout is a common issue in today’s fast-paced world, and it’s a serious one that could cost your business a lot of money. What does employee burnout look like? Preparing for the Ultrasound Certification Exam

Even though the law does not require it, many employers prefer ultrasound technicians to have certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Depending on their level of training and specialty, some sonographers may even pursue multiple ARDMS certifications. Good preparation is essential to passing any ARDMS exam.

Applying for Certification

Before you can take an ARDMS exam, you have to create an account at http://www.ardms.org. Once you set-up your user name and password, you have to file an online application and pay the application fee. The ARDMS also requires applicants to mail in hardcopy documentation of their education and clinical experience. Once the ARDMS receives all your information, you will receive notification within 2 to 4 weeks of your eligibility. After you receive notification, you have 90 days to complete the approved examination(s).

Preparing for the Exam

The ARDMS offers invaluable resources on their website to help prepare you for the exam. One of the best free resources they offer is seven 30 question practice exams, one for each major exam they offer. Taking the practice exams is a good way to determine if you are prepared for the real exam or if you need to do some more studying first. They also offer content outlines and sample questions. The content outlines provide you with a general overview of what topics each exam includes. The sample questions are not specific to any one exam, but they show test takers the four different ways in which exam questions are presented.

Other ARDMS Tips

As with any test, the ARDMS recommends that you rest well the night before you take the exam to improve your concentration. The ARDMS requires you to be at the testing center 30 minutes prior to the exam. If you are unfamiliar with where the exam center is located, it is a good idea to drive there beforehand so you do not run late. You are required to bring two forms of identification that must be current and use the same name that you are registered under to take the exam. Other than your identification, you are not allowed to take anything else into the testing center. The exam center will provide you with a whiteboard for making notes or doing calculations during the exam. If you have any questions before the exam, you can contact the ARDMS through their website.

Although the ARDMS does not endorse any particular study guide, there are independently published study guides available. If you have exhausted the resources on the ARDMS website and feel you’re not ready to take the exam, it may be a good idea for you to purchase a study guide on your own. Preparing yourself as much as possible for any ARDMS exam will not only make it easier for you to do well, but it will also help ease the natural nervousness most people feel before taking a test.

With increasing environmental issues like harmful pollutants and global warming, coupled with depleting fossil fuel reserves, it is necessary to find alternative sources of energy. Many solar energy companies are endeavoring to cultivate new and ground-breaking methods of harnessing solar power so it can be used by people in their daily lives.

Headquartered in the U. S., Solar Energy Generating Systems is the largest solar energy company in the world. They own nine solar power plants situated in the Mojave Desert, which receives one average 340 days of sunlight a year. Included in those nine are two of the largest on the planet. They came in the public eye in the late 1990s when one of their panels exploded, but have been generating power using the sun since then without any problems.

Based in China, Suntech Power is another one of the solar energy companies that rank as one of the largest. They own four solar power plants and employ over 8,000 people. They work in collaboration with other companies outside of their own country to help harness solar power. They fused with an Israeli company to help set up the largest solar power plant in Israel. Additionally, they helped Google to build one of their initiatives.

Pacific Gas & Electric joined hands with BrightSource Energy in a series of contracts to produce 500 megawatts of electricity. BrightSource Energy designs and constructs these huge plants that are able to provide solar energy for industrial and consumer use. This is being done at a price that is compatible with electricity generated using fossil fuels. The first one of these plants is situated in Ivanpah, California, and will start generating electricity in 2011. Pacific Gas & Electric has options to buy another 400 MW bringing the total to 900 MW.

The German company Juwi is famous for being the owners of the world’s prevalent thin-film solar panels. This technology makes solar panels significantly cheaper to use. This cost effectiveness provides companies with the incentives to invest in solar energy production. A majority of the solar energy companies are found in Germany, which is currently producing 40% of the world’s solar power. The German government is known for giving major incentives to companies developing solar energy, while punishing companies which don’t use renewable energy. The approach has led to Germany’s solar energy market to develop at an increased pace. They alone are responsible for producing 40% of the world’s solar energy being used today; no other country even comes close. Germany has a gigantic solar energy market along with several institutes and universities committed to enhancing the efficiency of solar energy production in the world.

One of the major hindrances to the production of solar energy is the fact that it is a field that still costs a lot to get started in. Also, the returns are very slow, maturing over a long period of time compared to other ways of generating funds. However, with the increasing prices of fossil fuels and the environment of the planet at risk, it is an area that has to be developed.

Children are our hope for the future. You may have been inspired to increase your understanding of what an occupational therapist really does. There overall job description is very basic because their main function is to help patients become self-reliant. There are many different reasons people will need the help of an occupational therapist. Some of these people over time have lost the ability to help themselves through a series of mental or physical difficulties. Others have suffered a mental issue which resulted in trauma, depression or stress. Others have suffered since birth from issues like an underdeveloped brain or abnormal physical characteristics.

The real job of an occupational therapist is to help these patients regain some sort of control over their own lives so they can live a somewhat normal life. The process in many cases is very slow going because the occupational therapist will need to work at the rate of patient retention. For many this is daily process because skills need to either be restored or taught all over again. The work of an occupational therapist will direct their attention on two main areas, motor and social skills. A patient will need to be able to communicate in whatever fashion they can but at the same time they will need to get to and from a location.

Some people may think that a therapist will help people that need to go shopping for them-selves and to be able to talk to people when they need to buy something at a local store. This is all very true but there are many patients that can’t even get around their own homes, let alone talk on the phone if they are in need of help. The occupational therapist will help patients gain or regain their ability to get up and move around their homes, as well as the understanding on how to achieve this. The patients are taught what steps to take and the muscles to use while performing these movements.

If a patient was involved in an accident it is very important for them to get back to their pre-accident condition, or as close to it as possible. To do this they will need the services of an occupational therapist. The patient will learn how to use their motor skills all over again until they are back to normal or as close as possible. Treatment progress is important in any form of a rehabilitation setting, and the occupational therapist will be required to log or track treatments applied as well as any progress or decline as a result. The therapist will be required to keep a full log and in many cases write a report that includes all treatments that have been applied and what the overall assessment might be. This information is then transferred to the overseeing physician for further treatment recommendations. If you’re looking to become a doctor one day, there are some stages you need to complete before you can begin to work within the healthcare sector as a Doctor.

In a nutshell the process here in the UK is much more straightforward than that of our neighbours over the Atlantic. Doctors to be can begin training after finishing their college education, it’s worth mentioning that in recent years an increasing number of mature postgraduate students aged between twenty and forty have begun entering medical training, it is therefore feasible to propose that it is never too late to become a medical doctor should you wish to do so. Medical school tends to last for~ 5 or 6 years, upon successful completion you have then achieved what is known as a Doctorate and can change your title to Doctor.

Pre-registering with the GMC (General Medical Council) Is the next stage, you need to work within the field for a qualifying period of 12 months before you are allowed full membership to the GMC, once fully registered you can move on to additional training programs which will help you to become a consultant or other medical specialist. The training to become a GP (General Practitioner) requires working in a relevant medical field for a period of ~5 years, a consultant even longer ~10 years.

It all seems like a very long time to get this job and title, the benefits are highly weighted in favour of becoming a  highly qualified individual with recognised talents and a salary to match; medical doctors are in the top 15% of earners compared with other professions. Being a medical doctor is a fulfilling and secure career which provides a high level of respect from patients, colleagues and the general public, these  are just a few of the obvious benefits of training and studying hard to become a GP or Consultant. All of this sounds great but there are some disadvantages to consider when on the road to a medical career as well as the length of study, long sessions and irregular hours, dealing with difficult patients, illness and unavoidably at some point in a career – coming in contact with bereavement. With the rise in tuition 2010/2011 many will be discouraged from applying to University in general, hopefully foresight will still encourage our doctors of the future to continue their study and become lifesaving medical professionals of tomorrow.

A US border patrol agent’s job is very important and has been that way for many years. Even before the events that took place on 9-11, the border patrol agent has been on the front lines making sure illegal immigrants are not entering this country at will. This position is not an easy position and requires certain skills as well as a certain mindset.

Illegal immigrants can enter this country for many reasons. Some of them are looking for work to feed their families in their homeland, while others are trafficking anything from drugs, guns, and terrorism. The border patrol agent’s job is to prevent these immigrants from entering the country and because of the vast area to work with their jobs can be quite difficult.

There are hundreds of miles of border that need to be patrolled 24hrs a day. These borders do not only apply to land but over water as well. US custom’s agent’s as well as border patrol agents are constantly patrolling these areas looking for people that are trying to enter this country illegally. When someone is found they are arrested, detained, interrogated and then these individuals are deported.

To enter this country legally you will need to have the proper documentation that is required. The job of a border patrol agent is to make sure you have the proper documentation and that everything is in order. Border patrol agents work right at the borders between US and Mexico as well as the US and Canada. Border patrol agents are stationed in respect to normal crossing methods as well as in places that people tend to cross that are not normal.

Border patrol agents work with such items as horses, boats, planes, and all-terrain vehicles that will allow them to travel great distances, as well as negotiate terrains that are normally not traveled by foot. The reason for this is the exam focuses mainly on logical reasoning and ‘what would you do or think’ situations. The other part of the test is your knowledge of foreign languages namely, Spanish.

You are required to pass the exam before you can continue on to becoming a border patrol agent. The other important factor is you are not the only person being interviewed for the position. Because this position now is part of the US National Security and Homeland Security, you are required to list all immediate family members, and relatives that may be of concern. This is to makes sure there are no discrepancies in your application that could have an impacted on National Security.

The salary that can be expected will vary depending on your level of entry. Although we stated earlier that you are not required to have a college degree or college education, if you do, you will enter at a higher level, meaning your salary will be higher in most cases. The typical border patrol agent will enter at a GL-5 level, and can expect to earn $38,599 annually. If you enter as a GL-7 or a GL-9 you can look forward to $49.487 annually.

Because this is a government position, in addition to your salary you will receive an excellent benefits package that will cover uniforms, medical, dental, savings plan, retirement pension, life insurance, and your vision needs as well.

If you’re thinking of becoming an occupational therapist there is a lot of studying that will need to be done. You’re studying will typically begin in high school where your main focus of study will be biology and social science. But if you’re serious about studying occupational therapy, there are other types of courses you will need such as biology, physics, physiology, psychology, and medical terminology. These are some of the areas that will need to be studied prior to looking into a Bachelor degree program which will be needed before certification is obtained.

If you are thinking of obtaining your master’s degree in occupational therapy the required study will consist of chemistry, anatomy, statistics, social sciences, and rehabilitation. These areas will require lengthy study, and in many cases over four years to obtain your master’s degree. The education needed and the field of study will also be determined by the accredited schools and colleges the students will attend. Many students can train for a career in the field of occupational therapy by enrolling in a school that is accredited for this type of training. The degrees that are available are a bachelor’s, masters or a doctoral degree.

Before a student can obtain a bachelor’s degree they are required to carry an associate degree in a related training program. Armed with this information, a student can complete four years of study to obtain their certificate of completion. Some schools will allow a student with an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree to train as an occupational therapists aide or assistant. As long as the student is studying with an accredited educational training program, they can either enter the workforce as an occupational therapist assistant or they can continue their education to acquire their master’s degree.

Students studying for their master’s degree in occupational therapy can choose from a variety of accredited educational programs. To acquire a master’s degree this will only require an additional two year period of study, and this is only after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in a similar field. There will be various coursework that needs to be studied as well as necessary skills and knowledge that are required to obtain your master’s degree in occupational therapy. The coursework that was listed above that is involved in obtaining your master’s degree will be the main focus of the additional two year period.

Studying to become an occupational therapist is designed for helping patients with physical and mental disorders or issues. Studying for this will require a large degree of work, as well as on the job training which will be required before you can obtain your certificate of completion. Upon completion of your program course work you will be required to obtain your state license which will be given once you’re licensing exam has been completed. This is required in most all states and to qualify for this exam your coursework will need to be with an accredited school that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.
